Smart Scheduler only. Not considered under manual scheduling rules.
The Smart Scheduler requires start and end points to create a technician’s route. By default, it uses the business address as the Start and End Locations. If your technicians start and end their day at the business, then the default settings will work without any further setup.
However, some workers travel to their first job directly from home, and return directly home after their last job of the day. This is also supported by the Smart Scheduler. Navigate to the User Record and click Edit. Custom Start and End Locations can be entered there. This can also be done via the API.
The Start and End locations can even be different - for example, a technician who starts each day at the depot, but returns to his or her home in the evening.
Note: A technician’s Start & End Locations do not have to be within his or her Service Area. For example, a technician may live in New Jersey, but serve the Lower Manhattan service area.
