Overview
Previously, Employee and Contractor roles were restricted to viewing only their directly assigned jobs when viewing the Jobs List. This limitation also applied to jobs where they were assigned as a crew member, preventing visibility into relevant work.
With this update, we’ve introduced new role permissions that allow employees and contractors to see jobs and quotes where they are listed as a crew member, ensuring better collaboration and visibility across teams.
What’s New?
New role permissions in the Roles & Rights table:
"View jobs when crew member" as seen within the Jobs Setting Area
"View quotes when crew member" as seen within the Quotes Setting Area
When enabled, these settings allow users with Employee or Contractor roles to view:
Jobs where they are assigned as crew members
Quotes associated with those jobs
Default Behavior:
These permissions are disabled by default, meaning Employee and Contractor roles will continue to see only their assigned jobs unless an admin enables these settings.
How It Works?
Job Visibility Enhancements
With "View jobs when crew member" enabled: Employees and contractors can see all jobs where they are a crew member.
Without this permission: They can only see jobs directly assigned to them.
Quote Visibility Enhancements
With "View quotes when crew member" enabled: Employees and contractors can view quotes related to jobs where they are a crew member.
Without this permission: They can only see quotes for jobs directly assigned to them.
Who Can Manage These Settings?
Admins can enable or disable these permissions from the Roles & Rights table by navigating to the Jobs and Quotes Setting area.
