Release Notes - Smart Scheduler: Dynamic Optimization

This article announces new dynamic optimization features available when using the Smart Scheduler.

Written by Product Education Team

Smart Scheduler now works with you throughout the day, not just at the start of it.

🗒️ Note: Available in the New Scheduler. No setup changes required for existing Smart Scheduler customers.

Here's what's new.

🚀 What's Launching

  • Reschedule paused jobs automatically — When a job is paused waiting on parts, Smart Scheduler can reschedule it back to the original technician the moment you're ready, no manual rebooking required.

  • Adjust jobs already on your schedule — Select assigned or scheduled jobs directly on the board and let Smart Scheduler reoptimize them, choosing whether to keep the same technician or let it reassign for the best result.

  • Fit urgent work into a busy day — Combine unassigned, scheduled, and paused jobs in one run so critical jobs get placed even when the day is nearly full.

  • Preview every run before it happens — See exactly which jobs and technicians are included before the optimizer runs anything.

  • Change your rules without starting over — Adjust skills matching, location permits, workload balancing, or travel time buffers mid-flow, and get a fresh, valid run every time.

  • See exactly what changed — A redesigned results view shows wrench time, travel time, technician utilization, and a full summary of changes, so you know precisely what you're approving before you apply it.

🚀 Benefits

  • Get urgent jobs done without disrupting everything else. Insert critical work into an already-planned day instead of rebuilding the whole schedule around it.

  • Spend less time on manual rebooking. Paused jobs move back into the plan as soon as they're ready, without you tracking each one down individually.

  • Approve changes with confidence. Preview and review every run before committing, so you always know what's about to change before it happens.

  • Keep the technicians your customers expect. Choose to retain job leads when continuity matters, or open things up when the optimizer can find a better fit.

  • Fine-tune on the spot. Adjust your rules in the moment instead of stepping away to a separate settings page and starting your run over.
