View-only Scheduler mode allows people from outside the scheduling and dispatch teams to view the Scheduler Gantt chart without running the risk of unauthorized changes being made to the schedule.
This allows account managers, sales teams and others to keep up to date with future planned work or to see changes as they happen in real-time in the field.
What does it do?
This setting restricts editing in the Scheduler. Users with this restriction in place can view the Scheduler but cannot modify jobs, Unavailable Time and other certain settings.
How do I set it?
This permission can be set in the Roles and Rights table, under the Jobs section. It is an enhancement what was previously known as the “Use Scheduler” permission.

Setting minimal permissions for view-only users
When granting View-only access to the Scheduler, make sure the user’s permissions around creating and updating other data in the system are set appropriately.
For example, if you want a user to only see the Scheduler and no other part of the application, grant them the “View Jobs” permission only, and set “Use Scheduler” to View.

Who is it for?
This mode is suitable for any situation where employees need a timeline view of planned and ongoing work but do not have the authorization to modify the schedule.
Some examples:
Field supervisors who need to view their team’s schedule without the risk of accidental rescheduling/reassignment of work
Account managers and customer service agents who need to see the status of customer jobs without interfering with the work of the dispatch team
Contractors who can see their planned work but should not have the ability to create or modify jobs
It is controlled by a permission in the Roles and Rights table named Enable Editing in Scheduler.
