Details
Show this slot crew only
This feature filters the Scheduler view to show only the Crew of the Job Slot you are interested in. For example, if a multi-day job had 10 crew members working on it in total, but the time slot you selected had 5 crew members, this option would just show those 5 crew members.
This allows you to view the time slot in isolation, making it easy to see the assignees and if the time slot is over- or under-resourced.
How to use: Right-click on a job block and select "Show this slot crew only" from the Quick Actions menu.
Show this slot crew only
This feature filters the Scheduler view to show only the Job you are interested in and its Crew. This allows you to view the Job's full timeline, making it easy to see the assignees and if the Job is over- or under-resourced.
For example, if a multi-day job had 10 crew members working on it in total but with different people each day, selecting this option would show all 10 crew members.
How to use: Right-click on a job block and select "Show this job crew only" from the Quick Actions menu.
Show this crew + available techs
If you need to add resources to a job or project, you will want to see the other technicians who are available at that time. Now you can select "Show this crew and available techs" to view the job in isolation as above, and also include all technicians who are available at that time.
How to use: Right-click on a job block and select "Show this crew + available techs" from the Quick Actions menu.
Then use the new select and copy feature described in the next section to do tech assignment.
What does "Available" mean?
In this context, Available means that a technician has white space that matches the duration of the Job Block on which you right-clicked. It is not the full duration of the job.
White space is time within Working Hours which is not booked up by Unavailable Time and other Jobs. Travel time to/from the job is not considered when calculating availability.
Note: The Scheduler only searches technicians who are included in the current Saved View. Use the Add User feature (see below) to add users to are not in the current view.
Ability to multi-select and copy Time Slots
Now it's easy to assign other technicians to a job. Drag-to-select Time Slots/Job Blocks and then use Ctrl+drag to add those blocks to another tech - all without entering Planning Mode (Option+drag on Mac).
In the screenshot below, the user drags a fence around three Job Blocks, which are highlighted in green:
Then, by holding down Ctrl on Windows (Option on Mac) drag those three blocks to another technician's row. A tooltip appears to show that the tech is being added to three time slots.
Use this feature in combination with the "Show this crew + available techs" to quickly and easily manage project resources.
User Actions menu
We have added a new User Actions menu so you can add and remove technician rows from the Scheduler without opening the filter settings.
How to use: Right-click on any technician row. You will see a menu offering options to add or remove users.
Add Users
Sometimes you will have someone in mind to add to a job or a project and you want to quickly add their row to the Scheduler to check their availability.
How to use: Click 'Add Users' to open a dialog which allows you to quickly add more users (techs) to the Scheduler.
Note: The "Show this crew + available techs" achieves a similar outcome, but sometimes the manual option is preferred.
Remove User
After adding a user's row in the step above, you might find that that person is not available. Quickly remove the user using this menu option.
How to use: Right-click on a technician's name and click "Remove <tech_name>" from the menu.
Revert to Saved View
All of the above tools allow you to make quick changes to the current saved view, but when your work is done you will probably want to revert to the Saved View.
To do that, just click the new revert action. This is a label that turns from gray to white when the current Saved View is modified. You will also know the view is modified by the asterisk (*) shown beside the Saved View name.
Clicking on revert will return the Scheduler to the named view's original parameters.
