Introduction

Parts Visibility feature is designed to empower technicians by providing real-time access to inventory data directly from the field. This feature allows technicians to check the availability of parts, identify nearby Inventory Locations, and obtain directions to those locations.

This guide will walk you through the functionality, usage, and benefits of the Parts Visibility feature, enabling you to streamline operations and enhance customer satisfaction.

Note: NetSuite integration required

This feature is only available for accounts integrated with NetSuite using the FA4NS Connector.

Feature Overview

Accessing Parts Visibility

  1. Navigate to the Job: When on-site, open the job you are working on within the FieldAware application.

  2. Go to Tasks: Inside the job, proceed to the task section where work details are recorded. This includes custom field data, photos, videos, and parts used during the job.

  3. Lookup Item: Click on the new “Lookup Item” button to access a list of inventory items.

Using the Lookup Item Functionality

1. Search for Inventory Items:

- Upon tapping “Inventory Lookup,” a list of inventory items from the inventory management system (NetSuite) will appear.

- Use the search bar to type the name or part number of the item you are looking for.

2. View Inventory Details:

- The system will display all locations where the item is in stock along with the available quantities.

- The list will include information on the distance from your current location to each inventory site, allowing you to choose the most convenient option.

3. Sorting Options:

- Sort the inventory list by different criteria such as nearest location, location name, or quantity (low to high or high to low).

4. Get Directions:

- Select an inventory location to view detailed information, including the address.

- Click on “Get Directions” to open your preferred mapping application (Google Maps, Apple Maps, or Waze) and navigate to the location.

Customization and Settings

Mapping Preferences

Choose Your Mapping Application:

  • The first time you use the mapping feature, the app will prompt you to select a default mapping application from those available on your device.

  • This setting can be updated later in the application preferences.

Feature Availability

NetSuite Integration:

  • The Parts Visibility feature currently relies on an integration with NetSuite.

  • This integration must use the FieldAware FA4NS connector

  • To enable Parts Visibility, please contact support@fieldaware.com or your account manager and one of our team will be very happy to walk you through the setup.
