Create new Dashboards and Reports

If you have the 'Enable Editing Custom Reports' permission in the Roles & Rights section you can create a new Dashboard by clicking the '+ Create Dashboard' button.

Simply enter the name of the Dashboard in the dialog and click 'Save Dashboard'.

New Dashboards are created in the Home folder. Users need Corporate team access to access the Home folder.

πŸ’‘ Tip

If you create a Dashboard but do not have Home folder access, you will need need to request a colleague with Home folder access to move it to a different folder.

See the next section for info on how to move Dashboards between folders.

Moving Dashboards between Folders

Newly-created Dashboards are created in the Home folder by default, which is only accessible to users with Corporate team access. You may wish to move these reports to a folder where others can access them.

To move reports, click on the folder icon in the bottom left and select the 'Move' option. Then choose the destination folder.

Editing Dashboards

Users with the appropriate permissions have access to the edit button. Click Edit to edit your Dashboards from right within the FieldAware application.

Edit Mode

In Edit mode you can add Elements to the Canvas using the Editor Panel as shown:

Key:

  • 1: Editor Panel

  • 2: Canvas Area

  • 3: Page navigator

Read more about each one below.

Editor Panel

The Editor Panel contains all the Elements you will use to create your Dashboard and Pages. Feel free to experiment with adding Elements to pages if you wish, it is easy to delete Elements that you no longer want on your Page.

Canvas Area

To create a new Dashboard or augment existing one with more elements, drag and drop elements from the Editor Panel to the Canvas area. The Canvas area can contain visualizations, tables, images, text (like Tips and Instructions) and many other types of content to help you build a rich reporting experience.

Page navigator

Each Page has its own Canvas and can be made to operate independently of others or not. For example, on one Page you may want to have the Dataset you are using to drive the content on other Pages. On another Page you may want to have some end user instructions, branding, etc.

Drafts, Previews and Publishing

Edits you make to a Dashboard or a report are autosaved in a Draft version. As you make edits, you can preview your work using the Preview Options.

These changes will not be publicly visible until you click the Publish option.
