Permissions
With the power to build rich reports of your data, comes the responsibility to make sure that information is shared with the right people.
To support this, we have introduced various permissions schemes that allow you to control who can view and edit your reports:
New Roles and Rights
Team and Folder Access
Row-level security
Roles and Rights
To control basic access to the Custom Reports tab, new permissions have been added to the Roles & Rights table.
A new 'View Custom Reports' permission has been introduced. This controls whether the user can see the Custom Reports sub-tab under the Dashboards tab.
An 'Edit Custom Reports' permission has also been added. This essentially controls whether the user can see the Edit button when viewing a Dashboard.
Team and Folder Access
While all your employees may need to access reports, there will probably be certain commercially sensitive reports that should be restricted. You will use teams to manage permissions.
There are three teams available in your Reporting tool:
Corporate
Operations
Field Technicians
Each one of these corresponds to a Folder in your reporting tool. You will need to add employees to one or more teams to allow them to access the reports contained within each folder.
Row-Level Security
Our new reports support Row-Level Security which means that users are only able to access the data they are authorized for.
Sharing via Email
To share a report via email, click the folder icon in the bottom left and choose, 'Send now...'
Enter one or more email addresses and choose the format you want to send. Options are PDF, Image and Excel.
