What's new in this release?
This release brings the Job Time Log Editing Rules - which up to now have just been available on mobile - to the FieldAware web app.
This means that business admins can now ensure that users cannot circumvent the mobile rules using the browser.
This allows the business to continue to ensure accurate and timely processing of timesheets, streamlining back-office operations.
How to enforce the Time Log editing rules in the browser
To enable this rule, navigate to Company Settings > Timesheets or for Enterprise Model businesses, Organization Settings > Timesheets
From there, switch on the 'Enforce Time Log Editing Window in browser' toggle switch.
How do I know if the rule is being enforced in the Job Page?
When the browser rule is switched on, a message will be shown in the Job Page > Time & Labor table, as shown below.
In the example above, the job time stamps older than September 18th cannot be edited. In addition, no time stamp can be set to earlier than that date.
Can managerial staff bypass the rule?
Yes, you can grant certain users permissions to bypass the Time Log editing rule.
Navigate to Settings > Roles & Rights and expand the Job and/or Quotes sections and enable the "Time Log: Bypass Editing Rules on Web" permission.
Users with the bypass permission will see the following message in the Job Page:
This Role & Right setting allows the rule to be enforced business-wide, while continuing to allow senior and administrative employees the leeway to make changes at their discretion.
